Airport Board Meeting May 13, 2025

Trey Dail from Ardurra, Dave Parker, Airport Manager.

– April minutes approved

– Slope Stabilization. Trey Dail reported that additional site survey work will be done in June when ground water is lower. Will analyze soil strata and recommend permanent fixes for the erosion that occurred this spring.

-The environmental assessment work is done.

– Power Pole relocation, off the South end of the Airport. Grant money may be issued in June. The Tole House transmission line, Northern Lights power line and Zippy Fiber communication lines will all be buried and obstructing poles removed.

-Obstruction survey – AGIS Fee review is in process; the independent review will need to be within 10%. Currently there is more difference than that, Dave and Trey are working on resolution.

-Requests for motor home size doors on Aviation Hangars. This is continued until the next meeting.

-County Commissioner meeting earlier today went well. Discussed current and upcoming projects, along with grant match costs. Our current runway improvement projects are expected to be funded at 97.5% – the County grant match obligation will be only 2 ½%. Previous projects have had grant match of 5%. This represents a huge return for local money spent.

-Looking at developing a designated helicopter operation area, probably near the wind sock. This would be used for Forest Service fire fighting activities, etc.

-The County asked about possibility of using a strip of Airport Property North of Highway 2 for a “Disk Golf” course. The Park Dept is looking for a site. While the APB did not immediately see a conflict; some members raised the question of having part of the Airport possibly designated as Recreational Park land creating any future problems. The issue was tabled for the next meeting.

– Fuel Flow : 100LL 3248 gallons Jet A 1560 gallons
