Advisory: Heat Advisory until 08:00PM Friday
Triple digit heat is expected Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The hottest day looks to be Thursday with many lowland areas flirting with record high temperatures. The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Heat Advisory...which is in effect from 2 PM Wednesday to 8 PM PDT Friday. The Excessive Heat Watch is no longer in effect.
* Temperatures...Highs 90 to 100. Lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s.
* Timing...Afternoons and evenings Wednesday through Friday. Thursday will likely be the hottest day with several lowland areas nearing 100 degrees.
* Impacts...Hot temperatures and limited relief overnight will increase chances for heat related illness especially for those without access to air conditioning. Heat stress is also possible for livestock and outdoor pets.
* Locations...Sandpoint, Rathdrum, Bonners Ferry, Priest River, Eastport, Kellogg, Pinehurst, Osburn, Wallace, Mullan, Kamiah, Craigmont, Nezperce, Winchester, Leavenworth, Mazama, Twisp, Winthrop, Stehekin, and Conconully.
* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHERN PANHANDLE ... EAST SLOPES NORTHERN CASCADES ... LEWIS AND SOUTHERN NEZ PERCE COUNTIES ... CENTRAL PANHANDLE MOUNTAINS

A Heat Advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives and neighbors.
