Meeting Minutes
Boundary County Airport Board Meeting January 6, 2026
Present: Rick Durden, Mark Weber, Scott Hittle, Don Jordan, Trey Dail, Jay Wages and Bob Blanford
Airport Manager: Dave Parker
The meeting was called to order at 5:36 PM by Jay Wages.
An error in the December meeting minutes was noted—the section that required removal of a hangar within three months of December 31, 2026, should be December 31, 2025. Rick Durden moved acceptance of the minutes as corrected, Don Jordan seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Update on Grant Projects
Trey Dail and Dave Parker reported that the FAA has agreed to fund the necessary grants for the runway extension and runway shift with associated infrastructure improvements and that bidding should start in March. The only remaining question is whether all of the work will be done in 2027 or in 2026 and 2027. The preference is to do it all in 2027 as doing it in one year reduces the overall cost as the contractor does not have to come to the site for two separate projects.

Review Airport Runway Shift Design
Trey Dail presented a preliminary design review of the Runway 2/20 rehabilitation and shift as well as options available within the monies available through FAA funding. The short version is that we proposed a runway shift and 1,200-foot extension, the FAA has recommended the shift with a 600-foot extension and another 600-foot extension in the future. However, the amount of money set aside for a 600-foot extension with no parallel taxiway but a turnaround at the end of the runway is less than the overall money set aside, we could do the 1,200-foot extension with no parallel taxiway to get the full benefit of the runway shift and extension and seek a grant for a parallel taxiway at a later date.
Trey Dail and Dave Parker are scheduled to meet with the FAA tomorrow to work on finalizing details on the scope of work and ask that the full 1,200-foot extension be approved.
Potential Buyer for FBO
Dave Parker advised the Board that he is talking with a person who is interested in buying Northern Air and becoming the airport manager. He asked that the Board meet with Dave and the potential buyer. The Board agreed and will meet on Friday January 16 at 5:30 pm.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 pm.
