Welcome to the Boundary County Jury Service website. This website contains important information regarding service for current and future prospective jurors.
Jurors In Receipt Of A Jury Summons
- If you are in receipt of a jury summons, please go to the Idaho Jury eResponse website, https://jury.idaho.gov to complete your questionnaire.
- If you do not have Internet access, complete the paper questionnaire, and mail, FAX, scan and email, or hand-deliver to the Jury Commissioner at the Boundary County Courthouse.
- All jurors regardless of age, former residents, criminal history, medical issues, etc., must complete and submit the questionnaire.
- I strongly recommend you complete the questionnaire online versus mailing the paper questionnaire. You will be able to check your status easier at the eResponse website than through the IVR phone system, and will be sent email updates.
- Juror Candidates who return a paper form must use the IVR Phone Number to check their status. If you have an email address, be sure to include it on the paper questionnaire, so you can receive email updates.
Steps To Do After You Submit Your Questionnaire
- After you click the Submit button on your questionnaire, select the Home button then go to the Service Information tab. Your status should say Confirmed or Pending. If you do not see a status on your screen, this means your questionnaire did not submit completely or correctly. You will then need to resubmit your questionnaire.
- Keep the stub from the bottom of your juror summons. The information on this stub has your name, Candidate ID number, barcode, dates of your term of service. It also contains the website and IVR phone number to check your status. If you lost or misplaced your stub, please go to the Print Letters tab on your Idaho Jury account, otherwise contact the Jury Commissioner via phone or email. You may either print or take a picture (with your cell phone) of the summons on your computer screen. This will expedite the juror check-in process for you and your fellow jurors. If you do not have access to your Candidate ID number, please contact the Jury Commissioner by email, phone, or in person at the Boundary County Courthouse.
- Checking your Jury Duty Status. Starting 2 weeks before the start of your term of service, begin checking your status at the eResponse website (if you did the form online), or the IVR Phone Line (if you completed a paper form).
Courtesy updates are provided via automated message from the eResponse system, and/or directly from the Jury Commissioner via email and/or text message. It is important that you monitor your email (including your Spam email) or cell phone starting 2 weeks before the start of your term of service. Confirmed status means you are on standby, Panel status means you are scheduled to show up for the given jury selection and trial date. Confirmed pending means you have a pending request, and are not assigned to a trial date.
Jurors With The Following Concerns:
- Medical – If you have a permanent medical issue, or one that will take more than 1 year to resolve, click on the Physician’s Certificate for Release form on this website, and get it to your provider for them to fill out. If your medical condition will be resolved in less than a year, mark “YES” on the temporary medical condition question.
- Non-resident of Boundary County – If you no longer reside in Boundary County, please list your new address on the questionnaire. It is also important to update your address on your Driver’s License and Voter Registration as soon as possible.
- Felon – If you are not currently on Felony Probation/Parole, you qualified to serve as a juror. Please provide any documentation if requested by the Jury Commissioner.
- Undue Hardship – If you are unable to serve during the dates listed on your juror summons, please submit a Deferral Request from your Idaho Jury account. You may select an alternate date to reschedule your jury service.
- Work Situation – is generally not a valid reason for excusal from jury service. Advise the jury commissioner of your specific circumstances via email, or hand-written note.
- Served within the past 2 years – There are duplicate entries in the database. If you receive a 2nd summons within 2 years of your jury service, advise the Jury Commissioner via phone or email.
- Person cannot fill out the form themselves – You may fill out the form for the person, and sign it, at the bottom of the paper questionnaire. Contact the Jury Commissioner via phone or email for guidance if you have questions.
